It is Reinforced concrete slab lies in the upsteam slope of Dam is called Face slab. The thick of face slab is 30cm with reinforced concrete and the span is 15m. The length of faceslab is varrying with topography. And it has slope of 1:1.7.

The face slab is fully underlying by the underlying rockfill and mostly in compression under reservoir loadings, except towards the dam abutments where tensile strains develop.( ICOLD 141)
