The dam is conceptualized from the Feasibility level of study executed by Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI) as a part of preparation of Bagmati River Basin Improvement Project. Based on this study report, PIIU tendered the work as Design build contract as an ICB process. So the contractor is the main designer and constructor of the dam construction who bears a single source responsibility for all the works incurred. In order to ensure the quality construction, contractor has prepared quality assurance and quality control plan and executed accordingly. A testing lab has been established at the site. Following test facilities are available in this lab:

• Compressive Strength of concrete
• Slump Test
• Field density test
